Ten Lakes, Yosemite. June 2012.

Ahoy! Last weekend I ventured deep into Yosemite's backcounty, from Tioga Road to the Ten Lakes Basin. Accompanying me are my best pals Bryan, Dan, and Kevin. Although the altitude sickness was bothersome, the altitude was quite sick indeed. Views abound! Come along on another overly-detailed adventure!
I bet Homer and Lisa didn't get altitude sickness.

Muggin it during lunch break.

Looking East on the way up to the ridge.

This is what I like to call a hiking trail. Enjoy!

Posing with a tree.

Bryan and Kevin feeling good.

Chris and Dan, feeling GREAT.

The meadow at the bottom of the hill.

Finally at the ridge before Ten Lakes, looking out onto the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne
.

Kevin looking down into the basin. You can almost see our campsite from here.

Canyon.

Money shot. Heading down into the Ten Lakes basin.

Where we explored on day two.

Above our campsite, looking back at the ridge we crossed to come into the basin.

The breaking point.

Trees abound.

Finally arriving at our awesome site.

My horrible hammock. NEVER AGAIN.

Looking at the Lake from our site.

Exploring on day two.

Looking up at the ridge where we came in.

Bryan enjoying the outdoors the best way he knows how.

Found another lake while exploring.

Don't go chasing waterfalls.

Swimming time!

Encouragement.

Acclimation.

Success.

Terrifying.

There's our camp!

Close up.

Rocky Road, with less marshmallows.

Friends!

Leader.
Thanks for joining me again! Next I'm heading to Emigrant Wilderness in two weeks, come back and see what that's all about.
